In April I took the train out to Torfbrücke some 22 km northeast of Rostock. Arriving at the beach I was literary blown away, high winds were blowing on shore and half of the beach was covered in water. The wooden poles you see here are used to protect beaches along the Baltic Sea from erosion. Yesterday they were engulfed by the raging sea. To get the angle I wanted I opted to roll up my jeans and stand in the water with bare feat, quite a thrill at 5C water temperature. Used a slightly longer exposure to create the pattern in the water with the lines leading to the row of poles. After that I put back on my shoes and went to another location. Well never check your shots while huge waves are rolling on shore... looking down I didn't see the water coming and ended up with my shoes soaked, which was superb for my 22 km bike ride home.
