In March started using an add-on within the TPE-App (The Photographers Ephemeris), which is called sky fire. This add-on uses a complex algorithm based on several high resolution weather models, taking into account cloud type and height, topography, satellite weather information and complex system analyses. On this basis an overlay is created showing you whether to expect great sunrise/sunset colors in your area. Astonishingly this feature works up to four days in advance. So on a Friday night in March I was stoked to see a 90% probability for great sunrise colors on Sunday morning in Rostock. Which perfectly made sense, as a weather system moved in from west that still drops rain on us. Downside of these good news where that with daylight-saving time still in effect the sun rose 6.15 am. So I packed my bike and rode over to the other side of the river Warnow and looked for a composition, which wasn't as easy as I thought. The relatively high water level had flooded some of the poles I originally wanted to use, so I focussed on a reflection shot and these poles. Thanks Skyfire for making the right call.
